Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement / Sourcing Specialist to join our client’s team on a six-month contract basis in Saskatoon. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who can quickly integrate into the business, independently manage sourcing activities, and deliver commercial value through effective supplier engagement, strategic sourcing, and contract management.
The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing and tender processes, from market engagement and bid development through evaluation and award.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and deliver value.
- Conduct commercial evaluations and supplier assessments to support sourcing decisions.
- Lead supplier negotiations and provide commercial recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage contract development, award, and mobilization activities.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving performance and accountability.
- Partner with internal customers and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and procurement needs.
- Identify commercial opportunities, cost savings, operational efficiencies, and potential risks.
- Support contract management activities and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Manage multiple procurement and sourcing projects simultaneously while meeting critical timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial management roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing competitive tendering and sourcing activities from initiation to contract award.
- Strong contract development, negotiation, and supplier management experience.
- Ability to perform commercial evaluations and develop business recommendations.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a complex business environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
