Before bringing your dog

A current dog licence is required. Keep your dog in sight and under control, even inside an off-leash area. Use a leash when entering and leaving. If the dog becomes a nuisance, the city requires a leash no longer than two metres and removal from the area.

Hyde and Charlottetown have small-dog areas restricted to dogs under 40 centimetres at the shoulder and less than nine kilograms. The map identifies Hyde’s main and small-dog areas separately. They are not interchangeable entrances.

Access, prohibited locations and contacts

Sutherland Beach includes off-leash river access, which needs extra care around children and pets. Silverwood’s north entrance and parts of the dog park are affected by the 2026 biosolids-pipeline project. Follow construction fencing and detours.

Dogs are prohibited at playgrounds, paddling pools, spray pads, cemeteries, Kinsmen Park, the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo, and the North East Swale. Report behaviour concerns to the Saskatoon Animal Control Agency at 306-385-7387. For park development, contact Animal Services at 306-975-8478 or animal.services@saskatoon.ca.
